Again "Unable to open an audio file for playback"

Hello,

Like many, I am frequently getting this message playing Tidal on the latest version of Audirvana on a Mac. with 12.0.1. I complained about this earlier, but didn’t realize that many have experienced the problem with many musical pieces. Maybe 50% of the Tidal selection is unavailable to me. Like with many others, this problem seems to have begun with the latest Audirvana update.

I have looked at many discussions, sent and seen many reports of debug info. My latest is below.

Maybe I am missing something but I h a v e n e v e r seen a solution to this common problem. I like Audirvana but don’t understand how I can use it with this problem.

A real solution rather than speculations would be appreciated, I cannot devote hours to this problem.

David

OK, speculation is welcome. I humbly request that somebody help me with this problem. Most titles in Tidal are unavailable to me now.

Not that this is the issue you need to back your buffer down to 4000 mb. You have most of your ram allocated

I am having the same issue. Seems to be the latest “upgrade”. I think they just want us to go away and pay monthly for Studio. I am tired of everything being subscription. I just deleted the software and went to reload and Audirvana website does not show my account. I have the printed purchase receipt - lesson learned many times before. Waiting for response from Audirvana but not hopeful as they have no motivation to service their old customers. If your account works with them, and you have downloaded the installation, try deleting the software and re-installing it.

Not at all, you really think we would do such thing? We are not a rogue company and if the issue is really linked to our latest version of 3.5 then, we will need to fix it. If you didn’t had this issue before the update, please send a mail to support@audirvana.com and I would be pleased to send you a earlier version of Audirvāna 3.5 for testing it out.

Antoine are you any closer to understanding a possible cause of the anomaly with Tidal playback via Audirvana 3.5.50? Are all Audirvana/Tidal users affected or is it regionally specific? Since September affected users have been providing support with debug info and console reports as requested. It would be helpful to know what progress, if any, has been made on your side.

It’s presently unclear if reverting to earlier versions of Audirvana is solution. Personally I’m hesitant to reinstall v 3.5.46 which, for me, was plagued with Tidal playback skipping and glitching.
