Is there a way to set Audirvana so that it simply stops playing when it reaches the end of an album? At moment it loops back to the first track.

Yep, I must agree with @RunHomeSlow. If the repeat button is blue, press it until it is white. (In blue it has 2 states, repeating the whole list, or repeating one track only). If white it is turned off.
Edit:
I am using Audirvana in ‘Dark Theme’, when you are in ‘Light Theme’ the ‘off’ color of the repeat button is black.
