All of a sudden constantly getting Unable To Open Audio File For Playback Message

As the title says - All of a sudden constantly getting Unable To Open Audio File For Playback Message.

Using latest mac version 12.6.6 and latest version Audirvana.

Always use Tidal if that helps.

Notice from past questions I am not the only one with this problem.

I am a computer science major and worked as a programmer for over 20 years. Tried all the obvious stuff - restarting machine etc. Elvis worked for one song - but nothing else.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Bill

Hi @bhobba,

Do you get this behavior with the OPPO or the Built-In output of your Mac?

Both.

Still expeiencing same problem.

Thanks
Bill

Have done further investigation.
Tidal direct from Tidal not through Audirvana works fine. But Audirvana - no go.

So tried something sneaky. My TV has a tidal app. Used that - no go. So deleted app on TV and reinstalled it. Guess what - it works perfectly.

Conclusion - Tidal has done something that creates an incompatability with Audirvana.

Bump

Bill, looking at your debug you are using 3.5 not Orgin. Little bit confusing because you have posted in the Orgin topic area. But anyway have you realized that 3.5 has been relegated to legacy status for around 2 years now? Tidal seems to be an issue for many using 3.5 unfortunately. I’m using Qobuz very successfully, might be a little bit of a hassle but perhaps you could try a trial of Qobuz to use with your 3.5 or subscribe to Audirvāna Studio

Thanks mate.

I have tried Qobuz - didnt like it. It sort of sounded harmonically rich, but a bit veiled, while Tidal sounded leaner, more transparent, like a layer of grit was removed.

Have been direct connecting the Tidal app by USB and that seems to work fine.

I am going to be changing my system soon so will work out my permenant solution then.

Thanks for the info - much appreciated.

Thanks
Bill
