Another question about Audio Units

My first lot of questions about AU was probably a bit all over the place, and got no responses at all. I’ll try to be more specific now:

How does using Audio Unit plugins affect the sound processing chain (apart from the intended function of the plugin) – will using plugins cause any bitrate conversions before or after, any up- or downsampling, to match the capabilities of the plugin interface or the plugins themselves?

Hello,

Audio Unit doesn’t resample (apart from the intended function of the plugin)

The number of channel could be limited by the plug in. I can use 6 channels with some audio units plug in in Audirvana, not tested more than 6 yet.

AU works with 32 bits float for the audio data, so the integer mode could be altered even the plug doesn’t make any calcul (A unity gain for example).
