I came back to Audirvana a few days after a short trip. The application was working perfectly before my departure.
Now, not a sound comes out, why?

All my settings should be fine, I think.

It’s like I’m missing to identify an on/off button somewhere… (???)

I’m on a 27" iMac / OS 10.14.6. / DAC : HAPI MERGING AES 67 /

Any help in identifying this mystery?

Yes, Damien. I can see the Merging in Audirvana. It was autoselected by Audirvana itself.

I have to say that Roon runs without any problem, but of course it is completely off if I choose to play Auvirvana.

To reply more precisely Damien: I have all the settings available. If I click on a song, the scroll bar loads in grey, then after a few seconds it reads blue… except that no sound comes out. The ear near the speaker doesn’t even hear the mini-breath of any connection from the computer to the Merging and to the amplifiers.

Close Roon and all other software. Maybe something is hogging the device interface.

Roon is perfectly closed when I play Audirvana.

It’s difficult to troubleshoot with so little information. How can somebody figure out why it suddenly stopped working? Have you tried to install the virtual audio device driver?

I play from my computer Macintosh 27" . OS 10.14.6
The signal comes out from the computer through Ethernet directly to the DAC (Merging Hapi Ravena AES67)
I have downloaded the last Merging driver (Aneman) to connect the system to the DAC. The configuration is now completely new.
The Audirvana application is 3.5.46.
Everything looks OK on the settings (Audirvana did itself the settings and I checked them to be sure).
It look like no signal goes out to the DAC.
A door stay closed/shut somewhere.

According to the virtual audio device driver (?) is there another driver I should download and use with the Audirvana application ?

Have you tried to play in Audrivana using the local audio device? Just to see that it outputs sound to any device.

it doesn’t work in these conditions either :frowning:
The scroll bar at the bottom of the screen loads in grey, then in blue. All visual indicators work as if the music is playing. The external hard drive flashes as it sends the music signals…

I don’t understand.

Try to switch off exclusive access.

Can you paste the debug info here? I have another idea but I need to see the debug info.

Reduce the pre-load buffer to 5000MB. Try all combinations with integer mode and exclusive access. Disable upsampling. Also try with a 16/44.1 file.

From what I see in the debug log, even though the exclusive access is turned on, the interface hogging is off. This makes me thing that something else is holding the Ravenna virtual audio interface busy. That could be the reason why you don’t get any sound.

It works, but I still don’t understand why.
I adjusted according to your advice, then I went back, step by step, to the previous settings made by the application itself to understand where the problem was precisely, and it still plays (?).
I think it has to do with the sampling frequency which should not exceed 192 Khz. I’ll send you the debug info. Maybe there’s something you’ll understand better than me. Thanks for the help.

I would suggest you go with the power of 2 upsampling, if you must upsample. If it still works, keep the exclusive access on as well as the integer mode.
