Audirvana 3.5 &Tidal master on Imac M1

Playing Audirvana 3.5 on my new iMac M1 16G 1Tb and streaming Tidal Master I get a very loud noise sound after say 15 minutes. It was streaming a 16/ 44.1 album. I tried fixing the audirvana page on screen for ever. That alone does not fix the problem. And I tried closing down upsampling. That alone does not fix the problem either. I had a longer period with both those last settings and will try that some more. I can play for 70 minutes already…

Hello @ggroen,

Can you send us a copy of the “Debug Info” when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message

Greetings!

If you try to remove the Audio Unit plugin you activated, do you still have the issue?

I will try that, I will let you know!

Hi Damien, since I shut down SoX upsampling and since I set my screen on ‘always on’ I did not have problems as yet. Whenever problems arise again, I will try removing the AU Apple plug-in!
I like using this plug-in for better sound from my speakers, the sound being a bit to low on the basses. Or do you recommend another equilizer plug-in for the M1?

You can try the equalizer from melda production: MEqualizer | MeldaProduction

I did install the other Equilizer and it did not work, BUT then I realised my Time Machine was on automated functioning! Oops…

So I made a mistake, I used the TM editor before for only late night usage and I now skipped the automation. Trying again with upsampling, without fixing the screen in Audirvana, with the Selma equalizer.

Did not work either, put off upsampling and put on the fixed screen.
Left the Selma equalizer on. Trying…

Ok, so now the app stopped working again. I stopped the Melda equalizer and tried to restart the app again. Then the app fell away. If I try to reopen it, it askes for the enter key again
I am restarting the iMac M1 and see what happens than…
It seems the app does not work properly on the iMac M1 in my case!

After the restart I still had to re-enter the license key again.
So Tidal does not work for me any more… What can I do next?!

If you go in Audirvana settings under the streaming section, do you still have your Tidal account connected?

Yes, Tidal is connected all the time. It is just that after an hour or more, the streaming stops and you hear this loud high noise.

Can you reduce the amount of RAM that Audirvana can use to 4000MB?

Ok, I will do that an try it!

Running Tidal more than 4 hours now, I’ll keep it running

After 5 hours I had the noise sound again, after stopping the DAC HD1 and reopening it played on. Didnot try that before…

So, it isn’t resolved sad to say… it just got slightly better…

I mean, I stopped the DAC while this noise was playing. Than I reopened it again and it played on.

Next step; I contact-sprayed my usb plugs. I have a rather long cable… It is playing a long time again now …
I keep on trying, because I like the sound (!) and possibilities of Audirvana a lot better than using usb on an IPad with Tidal…

Ok, it must have been hardware, the Usb plugs did it. Enjoying Audirvana again, with equlizer (melda) and old settings. Just left the upsampling out, wondering what that might help me…

Thanks for the support!
