Audirvana and Denon AVR-X1600H - forwarding tracks does not work

Hi there,

new to Audirvana. I am actually Roon-User but I am always trying to convince friends to buy decent stereos and software to make the best of file based audio. Not every of those guys is willing to spend a fortune on a software like Roon. So I recommend Audirvana.

The gear is an iMac running Audirvana and an iPhone or iPad Pro as remote devices. The iMac streams to a Denon AVR-X1600H. Everything runs smoothly and sound fine so far, except for one detail: You can not forward or rewind in tracks. Just does not work.

Things I have tried so far:

  • I restarted all components that are involved
  • I have gone through all settings in Audirvana and the Denon GUI that could be related anyhow imho.

Further remarks:

  • If your choose the iMac as an output device, forwarding/rewinding works fine.
  • The error appears with the Denon with both, local files from the iMac and streaming from Qobuz, so it’s not a issue concerning the streaming service but the communication between the Denon and Audirvana.

My friend is running a test version of Audirvana right know and he will gladly buy the software, IF there is a solution to this.

Do any of you have issues like that? Any idea how to solve this?

Can you send me a copy of the “Debug Info” while the Denon is selected? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

Can you check if you have a firmware update available for your Denon?

the firmware is up to date.

If you use the HEOS app from Denon, do you have this issue?

I have the same issue with Denon DVR800-H. The HEOS works fine for fast forward and rewind
