Audirvana and Korg DS-DAC-10r compatibility

Hi, I just bought a Korg DS-DAC-10R and tried to use it with Audirvana 3.5.50 (3580) on Mac Sonoma. Although I can reproduce any PCM content, Audirvana recognises this DAC as a No DSD DAC.
If I use this DAC with any other player like VOX or Audiogate, it works perfectly with the same DSD material (the frequency is not the issue here).
Does anyone experienced similar issue?
Does the latest version of Audirvana work in DSD with the Korg DS-DAC-10R, in which case I might think of upgrading?

Audirvana 3.5 should work in DSD with the Korg. Some more information is needed (Mac or Windows, memory, OS version etc.). Please post your Audirvana Debug Info here.

One thing to try if in Windows: Did you install the ASIO Driver from Korg and did you choose ASIO output in Audirvana?

Or use option dsd over pcm 1.1 instead of auto detect…

Thanks; the reason why I am using the Korg is to use DSD without converting it through PCM, otherwise I would use my RME or Qutest with no issue.

I didn’t, but I am not sure ASIO works with Mac OS though

Hi all, selecting the DSD option over PCM, and it works! I’m not sure what that means; I want to be sure there is no conversion into PCM to listen to a native form of DSD.

DSD over PCM (DoP) does not convert to PCM. I know the naming can be a bit confusing, but rest assured: the result is still pure DSD. PCM is only used as a ‘carrier’ to transport the DSD signal to your DAC. Your DAC will recognize this as DSD and will play it as such. On a Mac (and Windows without an ASIO driver) this is the only way to send DSD to a DAC. Because MacOS and (standard) Windows do not recognize the native DSD format they have to be ‘fooled’ into sending PCM. Probably the Audiogate program (which is made by Korg as well) does a better job of hiding this, but when on a Mac it surely uses DoP too.

To make a long story short: You can be sure there is no conversion to PCM.
