I have an older Mac, with latest software, and an iphone 12. Unless I select Upsampling (none) in the options, songs stop and start every 10-15 seconds. Occasionally it might play a whole song, but mostly not. Any ideas? G

Can you please go in your audio settings and disable upsampling and try to reproduce your issue?
As noted in my original post, selecting “None”, in the upsampling option seems to get rid of the problem, but then it does not sound as good? G
Try to reduce pre-load cache to 4000MB.
I don’t see where I can do that… please advise. What do you think the problem is? G
In the settings under the Audio System tab, you should see a slider to change the maximum amount of RAM that Audirvāna can use, can you slide it to 4000MB?

I found the slider and moved it from around 11,000 to 4,000. It didn’t change anything, song still keeps stopping. Also it seem to freeze up the whole system, if I select the next song, it keeps playing the same song stopping and starting every 10-15 seconds. G

It surly does not, I’ll pull my head out my arse a wee bit. I was thinking you were using Audirvāna Studio , sorry bout that mate. Hopefully some one running your version will chime in soon.
I’m pretty sure @Antoine meant to turn the Upsampling off, in the converter choices,
not the filter at none, to see if you still have cutting…
