I was hoping the remote app would be updated to allow editing EQ settings, with a more simplified interface of course. This would allow tweaking from the listening position with a large system.
Was that planned for the future by chance?
Maybe just settings for one filter at a time, no graphical manipulation like on the host. Have the host send back a before/after graph for feedback?
I’m sure you’ve already assessed this possibility and have an elegant solution if there are no show stopping problems.
Just hoping, so I can look forward to it!!!
Whatever the case, you guys rock. Did I say that already?
In the release notes of 2.11 it is said that there will be a future app release to adjust things from the app. That’s a must have feature for the Linux Core Player so I suspect it will be a key target to deliver asap
Also, I’m hoping for an easy way to enable/disable EQ during playback, and to easily switch between sets of EQ settings from the remote app. For example between a headphone and a speaker profile.
To me this is even more important, as a feature of the remote app, than creating/editing EQ profiles because there are at least existing alternatives for the latter, if more clumsy (e.g. use of Google Remote Desktop from an iPad to control the Windows app….although I acknowledge this is much less feasible from a small-screen iPhone or Android device).
Overall I’m very impressed with this new EQ capability….great job Audirvāna!
Amarok your reply really clears things up knowing it’s mentioned in the 2.11 notes and planned for future updates is reassuring. Adjusting EQ directly from the app would be a game changer, especially for fine-tuning from the listening spot. Really appreciate that info!
That would be an amazing addition! Being able to tweak EQ from the listening spot would make things so much more convenient. Hope they consider a simple one-filter-at-a-time setup like you suggested.
