Audirvana not finding my Sonos Connect

Hi, I have just purchased the licence key following the trial ending a few weeks back. I was using Audirvana to connect to my Sonos Connect which is connected to my Devialet Phantom via optical cable. This provided a really solid connection and in my opinion the sound quality was good too. However, since purchasing the licence key today I don’t appear to have the option to connect to the Sonos Connect.

Instead, in devices I only have the option to connect to the Phantom via UPnP via the Devialet Dialogue. The connection on this is terrible and sound is intermittent and unlistenable. Can you please advise how I can get the Sonos Connect to appear in my devices?

Thanks

Chris

Hello @chrisp83,

Can you send me a copy of the “Debug Info”? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message.

Can you also check your firewall settings ? In System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options > Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections check that this setting is selected and “Block all incoming connections” is not selected.

Hi Damien,

Thanks for the quick response. The firewall settings are as you have detailed they should be below.

Here is the debug info

There is a regression not fixed by Apple since OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) that makes the AirPlay device unavailable to any application other than iTunes (it is not even listed in Audio Midi Setup application). Until Apple fixes this, there is a workaround to get it back:

  1. Option/alt click on the loudspeaker icon on the menu bar

  2. Select AirPlay in the selection menu that appears

  3. You can then select AirPlay in Audirvana Audio Device Settings.

If the loudspeaker icon is not displayed on the menu bar, you can show it by going to System Preferences, Sounds page, and set the “Show loudness in menu bar” option.

In addition, be sure iTunes is not set to use the Airplay device.
