Audirvana not seeing Unison USB Yaggdrasil

Though the PC sees the DAC in Windows Device manager (W10 Pro) and it says its working it isn’t showing up as an output option in Audirvana. Help appreciated. Here’s the debug info:

Hello,

Can you check your firewall settings: In Settings > Update and Security > Windows Security > Firewall and Network Protection > Allow an application through firewall, make sure that Audirvana is allowed to access the network.

Have you installed the USB driver?

Sorry about the late reply. Having made sure all drivers were updated and having the problem persist we went ahead and reinstalled W10, again updated all the drivers and still have the same problem: Audirvana sees my network player ( original Sonore Series Signature Rendu (SPDIF HDMI/BNC) but it does not see the USB Yggy as an output option. However, though Windows sees the Yggy as a sound device, in Device Manager, where it says this device is working properly, Windows does not see the Yggy as an output device in the “Sound” field in Control Panel, where it says no sound devices are connected! I am not at all computer savvy

but this seems really crazy. Any thoughts/help very much appreciated.

It looks more like a Signature Rendu issue with Yggy. Yggy uses a custom USB controller that might not work that well with Rendu.

You need to select the Rendu when playing through the bridge.

Bitracer, I’m not understanding your response. When I connect the Yggy to a USB port on the PC the Signature Rendu is out of the chain as it is connected to the Yggy via SPDIF/BNC, though it remains as a network option in Audirvana; however both Windows, as described above, and Audirvana do not see the Yggy as an output device. If I plug the Yggy into my laptop via USB, which also sees the Signature Renbdu as a network device, Audirvana on the laptop sees both the Signature Rendu and the Yggy as output devices. So on the PC I just don’t understand how the Rendu is relevant to the USB Yggy problem. Sorry if I’m just being slow and thanks for your responses.

Just wanted to see if it works when connected via USB. Didn’t know you’re interfacing Yggy via SPDIF.

Which device do you select in scenario PC->Sonore->Yggy.

Take a debug info dump while playing in this scenario and post it here. You can also try to connect Yggy to the Rendu using USB.

Sorry, I thought the Signature Rendu only has USB output. Am I missing something?

Yes, I’m using the original 2015, I think, Signature Rendu which only has two outputs: HDMI and SPDIF via BNC. There is no usb output on the original version. Do you still want the debug info? I believe I posted it above in my first post several days ago. At the time the chain was PC>Yggy(usb). Again, really appreciate your input.

Ahh ok, didn’t know that. I’m looking at the current Signature Rendu SE.

Must be some setting on the Rendu that is causing the problem. It’s normal that you won’t be able to see the Yggy behind the Rendu. In Audirvana you need to select Rendu as output device, of course.

Post the debug info just in case.

Will do but won’t be able to do so for a few hours. Thanks again.

Hi Bole(!)
I’m assuming that you are attempting to compare yggy’s unison usb input (direct from pc) with playback via (older) rendu? And the latter (works ok?) is therefore irrelevant to your predicament.
Not used windows for a while but is there the option to right click in control panel sound devices (or whatever) and show hidden devices?
If you do get it working I’d be interested to hear your thoughts as I have older Gumby and am considering unison upgrade (also with older microrendu usb out so would work fine with this).
Best of luck,
Andy

Thanks Andy. You are correct, I am trying to compare the two. Will let you know if I figure it out. Also, I’ve tried the usb input on the Yggy to the SPDIF input using an Allo Signature Bridge with a Digione mounted to it. I thought the SPDIF output sounded better, a bit less noisy.

Cool! Did you try the right click thing - your Yggy might be there…?
