Audirvana Origin 2.2.2 - Integer Mode Off

Hi All

I can see that with Audirvana Origin 2.2.2, Integer Mode is ‘Off’, and I can’t work out how it can be enabled. I’ve tried searching for an answer and have been unable to locate anything of relevance. Please see my Debug Info below:

Integer Mode is a device driver in Audirvana that substitutes for the DAC driver in MacOS. Because device drivers interact with the operating system kernel, Apple’s efforts over the past years to make its OS more secure means 3rd party device drivers like integer mode can only access the kernel if Apple permits it. Apple has not permitted it, and so enabling integer mode on MacOS is not possible without a workaround. @RunHomeSlow may have more information about whether the workaround is possible, and if so, how to do it.

Thank you @Jud but you are much more knowledgable then me on those matters…
if you refer to me as ‘Direct Mode’ at the time, i just rewrite that recipe to make it easier
to ‘normal people’ here to make it happenned

But here, as i see it in your log, it is ON… maybe you think it is off because like in 3.5 version, you cannot see it on the right of main window with the color name or not, but if you just check your prefs here like mine on picture, it is ON…

But just in case it is not, to my knowledge the first thing i would say, it is to someone in first version of a new macOS system, yours 13.0.1… hurry up on update!.. many bugs off, but more importantly, security updates usually the first thing you want to update…

Ah, I think you are right, I’m confusing integer mode with direct mode. Thanks!

Thanks Jud and RunHomeSlow

I can see from my Debug Info that Integer mode is ‘ON’, but there are still two perplexing issues:

  1. The DAC INPUT menu doesn’t display the ‘Integer Mode’ option. It appears to name it ‘Large CoreAudio I/O Buffer’. Is that the same thing?

  2. In the main settings window, the DAC Input displays ’Integer Mode: OFF’.

Any thoughts or potential solutions?

You can see in my picture large buffer is there too.

Unplug DAC.

Update macOS

Open audirvana, plug DAC or
plug dac and open Audirvana

Can’t see why if it was working before, not now?
Maybe @Antoine

What is the connection you are using?

I’d updated to 13.1 before making my previous post.

I’ve since done all those steps you suggested but no change.

I’m using a USB-C to HDMI cable. The only other digital inputs on the MRX-710 are S/PDIF (coax and TOSLINK).
