Simply put, if its so poor as a stand alone product, no better than 3.5, Why did you buy 3.5 then? I take it you did the free trial before buying 3.5 to see if you liked it?
Honest constructive criticism is welcomed by smart companies. The worst thing that can happen is people stop giving feedback. That means they’ve left. Since this is a comparison between AS and Roon, what do you like and dislike about each one?
The way I understand Johns post, he purchased 3.5 several months ago.
I’m not sure but he appears to be happy with 3.5.
He’s now TRIALING Studio, but doesn’t think the difference between the two is worth the additional cost.
An honest and fair opinion (although one I don’t share, especially when Studio DOES finally work).
HTH.
I think maybe i might have been influenced by one of his other posts suggesting Audirvana will have a law suit on its hands due to copying Roons shade of purple and for copying Roons scroll sliders. Maybe that influenced how i read this and what he was getting at…
I bought Audirvana 3.5 a few months back and loved it, still do. I’m talking about Studio.
People have been sued for less. Have you used either Studio or Roon?
I’m having a little trouble here. Why doesn’t the search button work?
I also prefer the sound of 3.5. Fuller and more natural.
Yes, i currently use all 3. Roon, studio and 3,5. Its not an “upgrade” by the way its a new programme. You state its not fit to even be a stand alone product but also say its just a re-skin of 3.5. A re-skin thats not fit for purpose but its the same as what you already liked and payed for…
They way I read it is that he thinks its an an upgrade for starters, all be it subscription which is wrong. Its an entirely new release and secondly doesnt seem to know what it actually does under the hood. All info is on the website and plenty of videos to watch.
Im all up for having a decent conversation about things but when people dont seem to even grasp what it is , or what it does then… well, you see my point
How about a little help with my question? Why doesn’t search work? Thank you.
Search button works here (see attached) I think it is messy and NOT clear in the results. I’m preferring the results from my local files would be better at top of screen. When I click LOCAL I get the second result and I have to click SEE ALL for all the Beethoven.
If I want to search all the other places where Beethoven is filed I’ll choose that in my WANTED SEARCH RESULTS FROM button. Oh… it does not exist yet. Too many clicks. Yes, a First-World-Problem, but still it is not intuitive.
First Result::
Second Result:: (LOCAL)
Third Result : (SEE ALL)
Thanks for the summary!
I said I was gonna stay away from the Studio for a few weeks. Well I did not. Instead of running Studio on my laptop which is connected by WiFi, I plugged it right into the router next to my file server. The Studio “analyzed” my small 7700 tracks library for a whole day and progress was sill < 50%. Then it crashed again. I rebooted and let it run gain for two days and it never finished analyzing my track. I was like hack I am just gonna play some music. Remember I mentioned last time the volume snapped to 100% in the Studio? It did it again by itself, I shut down everything immediately. I am so upset I have to write this first before I check my stereo and speakers. The UI really has some issues. I hope my speakers are OK or I will be very very pissed with Audirvana! My kids are shocked. My wife is really mad this time it blasted at 100% again. I am really staying away from the Studio. I am not going to risk my stereo by giving the Studio another chance, at least for a long time. It is not worth it. Not player SW I used has ever done that ever!! I am muting notification from this thread, less I should be tempted to try the Studio again. Good luck guys!
I’m sorry for your speakers.
And you will miss us.
I opened trial, it instantly came up with a message that it was mucking about with my files.
So, I quit it and deleted it.
If/when Audirvana Studio allows me to add file/ folders in the same way I could in 3.5 I’ll give it another go. As is, I find it an annoying UI, not as intuitive as 3.5 ( and that’s not great! ).
Also, I have no need for all the streaming options. I bought Audirvana as a simple, though high quality, audio player… and that’s all I need.
