No, it isn’t. Just checked the Options. Only the posibility to add or not metadata to local files. Too bad. You can, however, block MusicBrainz in the firewall or hosts file but this is not a solution.
Damien has said somewhere that they are aware that this needs to change. That many people have reported this. This is being worked on. (after the vacation)
This is good. Since my computer works 24/7 I can wait, but few months… come on!
You can not block AS with the firewall, if you want it to function properly continuously. It’s a subscription player that needs to connect to AS server. It’s not a player for which you have a license.
It won‘t take that long. Try it and you’ll see.
You were speaking about 200K tracks.
Do you have 200K tracks to analyze?
If not, it will be shorter.
Not AS, MusicBrainz, their IPs. But this means MusicBrainz service will be unavailable even for other apps and the analysis will never finish.
With Picard, it takes a few minutes per album.
For AS, there was a guy on the forum who calculated the rate of the analysis based on the log files of his PC. I remember that with my 140K tracks collection, a full analysis would have taken months.
Nevermind. I will buy an M1 after few months and I think this will be fixed until that. I will organize my local collection more logical, keeping the best versions, deleting double tracks and lossy. This will take some time.
You can load 5K tracks first. Let the analysis finish, and then load 5K more tracks, and son on.
Good point. I think is better in this way. Thanks for suggestion.
And is more safe. If AS crash for whatever reason you will not loose all the analysis.
It’s important to keep all along the analysis backups of the database. If it gets corrupted, you replace it with a backup instead of starting the analysis all over again.
No need to do this. It’s just extra effort for nothing.
Why? I will make a backup of every 10k. I don’t like to waste time, prefer to play safe.
I stopped the analysis at quite an early stage. But I was reading the threads where the users were discussing the issue. Among the hacks, they were desinstalling AS, and then using a safe backup of the database with a clean install of AS.
@Ironz can tell you more about it.
Thanks, I read that posts. Hope to be good. The ability to quick search on Qobuz and local files is also cool, just to work properly and without bugs. Because this software has many bugs. Another 3:
1.Sometimes a track is shown as favourite even if is not added in the favourite tracks list
2.Not all the radios are displayed in the favourites list. I have 24 and AS display only 20.
3.When I have in a folder a wrong cue sheet AS simply crash when try to play. It’s not normal, other players display an “unable to play” error and eventually some details and that’s all.
You are wrong. There are apps that need to connect to the internet even if you have an “unlimited” license - even for licensse validation / checking authorization. And I think these cases will be more in the future.
Which player needs to do that?
