Hi all,

Question is the tittle… If someone had the same problem or could help, I would appreciate a lot, I’m lost !

Hopefully you had a nice holiday.

First questions.
Have you rebooted the MAC and the DAC? USB cable out and back in.

The DAC is not visible in the Debug info. I assume you don’t see the DAC in other software or the Audio MIDI setup of the MAC?

Hi Jacob,

Thanks nice holidays but with northern sun

correct I don’t see it (midi setup is the sound setup in Mac ?)
It worked perfectly before…Don’t remember any updates… (Catalina)

Or at the audio devices in the configuration screen.

The first step is to know if OSX does detect the DAC. If not, then check whether the DAC and USB cable are OK.

Thanks. where should I check ?

Son / Sound

thanks, Checked and nothing except internal output…

What options for what basic checks are there? Another laptop or PC to connect the DAC to? Another USB cable? Have you checked the USB cable to see if it is still properly plugged in on both sides?

Right again, thanks.
Tried on a MacBook Air BigSur, not recognized either…
So went to amazon and expect two new cables for To.: 1 Usb and 1 jack/Opt…
I "ll let you know

Best

Hi Laurent92,
It is somewhat difficult to provide support via a forum with limited information.
For now I can’t really explain why a setup before the holidays works well and now suddenly not anymore.

It could be something with the wiring, but I can’t guarantee it. Otherwise we will have to continue testing and searching after replacing the cable.

I don’t know anything about this brand and type of DAC, so some research or help from the DAC supplieer may be necessary.

FYI, I’m not part of the Audirvana team, just a fellow Audirvana user.

Have you checked if there is not a firmware update available for your D150?

Hi Damien,
Yes, I have the latest.
I progressed : I used a sonos connect to feed the dac in coax and it’s working.
So the problem remains with Mac mini/audirvana/usb.
Still waiting for a jack/optic cable.
Any clue ?

progress of the day:
. tried with another Mac mini (2012): dac not seen again
. plugged a jack/opt cable on the original Mac mini : sound is back again !
But I lost vol control from the app, settings and seems quality due to this connection

I would then guess that’s an apple update problem…

If someone could provide help I would be grateful and happy :kiss:

The optical connection is really something different than the USB. Only the audio can be sent to the DAC over the optical. No further functionality as is possible with USB.

What are the logical reasons for three different Macs/PC’s not seeing the DAC? At this point the USB cable and the USB connector of the DAC. A printer cable or other cable that you still have is sufficient to rule out the cable as a possible cause.

And the USB functionality of the DAC itself could still be possible. Checking settings or doing a (factory) reset might help.

It’s probably a DAC issue. Do you have the option of taking it to the shop where you bought it?

So, after all the tests that seemed logical (cables, 3pc, passing by the HDMI plug and a converter); I had to go to the evidence that the usb plug of the dac is failing…
It did not support my vacations and I must therefore resolve to bring it to service!

And in the meantime, I can only enjoy half of my beloved Audirvana in 24/96…

Thank you very much to all those that helped me in the process of questioning!!!
