Brooklyn DAC+

The Brooklyn Dac + is Not seen in Audirvana as a dsd 256 device.

I Use latest Audirvana release and El Captain
Dac Firmware is 1.28

On macOS you can only have DoP (dsd over pcm), it is a macOS constraint.
DoP is dsd encapsulated in pcm and needs the double of the bandwidth, therefore as your dac max resolution is 384 and dsd128 is equal to 176.4 then the double is 352.8.

When you select DoP 1.1 can you play the DSD256 files?

I tried but no. Still Not reconizing dsd 256

Hello @declaration,

macOS is not able to send raw DSD streams. That’s why the DSD over PCM standard has been developed: to send raw DSD in a fake PCM stream.
To identify it as such, there are 8 bit markers in it.
And the presence of these markers doubles the need of bandwidth, thus explaining why on a mac only half of the max DSD rate is available.

You will get DSD 256 on Windows 10, yes.
