Can't play some records with Luxman

Hi there!

I just bought a Luxman DA-250 and somehting weird is happening here. For some reason I can’t listen some songs or records. After select to play, the “unlock” light shows up, the music seems to be playng there but nothing happens, there is no sound. I’m using with ASIO but nothing changes if I try to use with WASAPI.

On the DAC manual it says “Digital signal unlock indicator
(UNLOCK): Lights up when a digital input is selected from USB/COAX/
OPT 1/OPT 2 with the input selector and the digital input
signal from the digital device is not synchronized with this
unit.”

I’m trying to understand what to do here but I can’t. Playing the same files using Qobuz and Tidal softwares, works fine, so indeed it is something with Audirvana.

Any help here?

More information is needed when attempting to play one of the problem files… Please paste your debug information report here, so we can see what is going on with your settings and DAC capabilities when attempting to play a problematic file… You can follow this to get your debug info:

USB audio is transmitted asynchronously to the DAC… So, for some files to play and others not being able to play, is related to sample-rate or some other factor influencing the digital-audio signal transmission to the DAC or some other file related anomaly… Include the file type and sample-rate of the file(s) that will not playback…

Can you go into the Audirvāna settings and in the My Account section? You will see a ‘Start Log Session’ button; click on it and reproduce your issue. After you reproduce it, click 'Stop Log Session’ and send me the audirvana_studio.log or audirvana_origin.log file you can find by clicking the 'Open Log Folder’ button at [email protected]

But the weird part is to listen the same files using Qobuz, Tidal or Roon.

It was something with the upsampling feature. Somehow with Power of Two and x2 doesn’t work, but without or using custom, seems fine.

From the DA-250 user manual:
USB input supports 192 kHz / 32 bit
B-type USB input terminal is installed and makes it possible to input USB digital audio signal from a PC/Mac. The sampling frequency of up to 192 kHz and 32-bit quantization are supported.

USB input supports DSD
DSD format data can be entered from PC/Mac, or the like.
Sampling frequencies of 2.8224 MHz/5.6448 MHz is supported.

What happens when you set the ‘Maximum Sample-rate’ to 192kHz in the ‘DAC Input’ settings, when using ‘Power of Two’ upsampling strategy?.. Also, you could try upsampling all PCM to DSD128.
