Compatibility with Mutec MC 1.2

Hello,

i am trying to use Audirvana with a Mutec MC 1.2 (https://www.mutec-net.com/legacy_product_mc-12.php) as a digital to digital converter. The following errors occur randomly but frequently:

  • Audirvana does not recognize the Mutec
  • it is not possible to select the mutec as output
  • Music cannot be played
  • Music can be played but the DAC (connected to the mutec) does not receive a signal

Hello @Joe, Are you able to select your DAC in the audio output of your Mac?

thanks for your quick response.

It is not possible to connect the Mac to the DAC (no USB Input) directly that why I am using the Mutec as a DDC.
When I am using other Audio Players or DAWs everything works fine.

Can you send me a copy of the “Debug Info” while connected to your Mutec? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

Hello @Joe, Do you have an idea of your DAC capability? Can it handle 192 kHz?

Hello @Antoine, both the Mutec and the Trinnov ST 2 are capable of processing 192 kHZ.

Hello @Joe, in the audio output settings, can you enable up sampling with the parameter “x2” and Software volume control?

hello @Antoine, yes I can but it doesn`t seem to change anything. The following errors appear - sometimes one and sometimes the other:

  • Audirvana shows “Unable to change to Integer mode”
  • Audirvana doeasn’t show the Mutec MC as an audio output
  • MC is recognized by Audirvana, Audirvana plys but no signal is in the DAC (Trinnov ST2) DAC shows nor sync
  • Audirvana plays, Muisc can be heard after a few seconds it stops, DAC shows no sync

Have you tried if you have the same issue with iTunes for example?

usually i don´t use iTunes but it works well - same with mpv Media Player, Qobuz Desktop App and Ableton Live

Hello @Joe, you then need to deactivate integer mode in your audio output settings in Audirvana.

no, it doesn’t. mostly it’s like:
MC is recognized by Audirvana, I can choose the MC as an audio output in Audirvana but when I click the Play button, Audirvana doesn’t start to play.

Hello @Joe, can you then deactivate exclusive mode in the audio output settings? If you still have an issue after doing this you then you need to contact Mutec since your DAC have an issue.
