CXNv2 w/ Audirvāna Studio hangs w/ "Loading first track..."

Dear community,

when I try to play a song with Audirvāna Studio over my network player CXNv2 (current firmware release) I’ll get the following error message: “Loading first track…”.
Audirvāna 3.5.45 works fine.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem. CXN V2 is connected but when I hit the play button nothing happens.

The same scenario with Audirvāna 3.5 works pretty fine.

Could you confim you are trying to play standard quality tracks (mp3 or CD quality)? What about hires tracks?

The behaviour is independent from the source (local, Qobuz) and the quality (MP3, CD, HiRes).

I have the same problem. I have given it a few days but nothing has changed. It works fine with 3.5. For a bit more insight I tried UPnP to my OPPO 205 instead. Interestingly hires (24 bit) works fine but standard 16bit and below does not work. Using upsampling also makes it work on the OPPO. This trick does not solve the CXN V2 issue though. USB connection works fine for both. and the OPPO gives best SQ - which is the reverse of 3.5 where the CXN is best.

  3. Try to play a local media file 44.1kHz/16Bit, a Qobuz 44.1kHz/16Bit flac stream and a Qobuz 96kHz/24Bit flac stream
  4. Audirvāna hangs w/ “Loading first track…” and CXNv2 shows no activity

Scenario 2

  1. Switch on CXNv2
  2. Start playing any content directly from the console of the CXNv2 (for example any stored radio station preset)
  3. Start Audirvāna and select CXVn2 as network device
  4. Try to play a local media file 44.1kHz/16Bit, a Qobuz 44.1kHz/16Bit flac stream and a Qobuz 96kHz/24Bit flac stream
  5. Audirvāna plays every content w/o any problems and also the album picture is visible in the display of the CXNv2

Scenario 3

  1. Switch on CXNv2
  2. Start Audirvāna Studio and select CXVn2 as network device
  3. Try to play a local media file 44.1kHz/16Bit, a Qobuz 44.1kHz/16Bit flac stream and a Qobuz 96kHz/24Bit flac stream
  4. Audirvāna Studio and CXNv2 show no activity

Scenario 4

  1. Switch on CXNv2
  2. Start playing any content directly from the console of the CXNv2 (for example any stored radio station preset)
  3. Start Audirvāna Studio and select CXVn2 as network device

  5. Audirvāna Studio and the CXNv2 console display “PAUSE” and the song can’t be started wether from Audirvāna Studio nor from the CXNv2 console (the CXNv2 console displays the album picture in the grayed background)

Haven’t managed to replicate scenario 2 or 4. Always same as #1

I have a small update on my experience which may help a little. I read on another post (which I cannot find now) that turning on ‘use vst effects’ under the processing tab might make a difference. The writer did not know what would happen if no vst’s were installed. I can confirm that even without any vsts, turning on ‘use vst effects’ does allow play via UPnP on the CXN V2. However - it only works with native hires tracks or upsampled tracks. I hope this will mean something to Damien if he tries to fix this issue.

Here the behaviour is independent from the “Use VST effects” on/off state.
