Display albums in random order

Hi,
I am evaluating Origin, as a potential replacement for JRiver.
I miss being able to sort all albums in a random order. This is a nice way to browse a large collection when I don’t know what to play. I would pick a few albums from the first few pages of that list.

I believe there is no way to get that kind of view on Audirvana Origin.

Hi @mimizone,

Unless you press the shuffle button and play a track in the track view, there no way to do this in Audirvāna Origin.

Totally agree—random album view is great for discovery; hoping Origin adds that feature soon!

Is that something that could be considered for a future update by any chance?

What can we do to facilitate the implementation?

Is it just ‘your’ phone or is it available to other/Studio users? It’s now August 2026 and I can’t see that feature on my phone. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m using Studio and have the latest remote app on my iPhone but still can’t find how to randomize the album views.

When you are at the top of the Local Album view, click on the shuffle button, then play, and you are good to go:

Thanks. I think we are talking two different things. I just want to randomize the album display before choosing which album to play.

The shuffle button randomizes the play queue.

Maybe it should an option in the sort criteria to randomize the album display. I believe thats the intent of the OPs post.

oh, then we are not talking about the same thing; you are right.

I may have understood the request the right way, so it’s only a shuffle of the view, not playback.

I will need to ask our developer about this.
