DLNA streaming from NAS

Hi

I have my music stored on a Synology. When I stream Audirvana wirelessly from my Mac to the stereo is the file streamed wired from the nas to stereo or wirelessly from the Mac?

The file from the NAS is loaded on the Mac. And streamed to the stereo from there.

And what protocol does the Mac use to stream to the stereo?

It’s UPnP normally, but you can also use AirPlay.

Yes but Airplay sadly limits it to 16/44,1

Yep, you’re better off with UPnP if it works for you.
