DSD Chord 2Qute issues

Hi.

I have a trial license and really like the application and SQ.
I have a personal library (Ripped CD’s to DSD) and also stream Tidal.

My Chord 2Qute plays DSD over DoP.

I have yet to successfully play my DSD files, although JRiver works fine. Im ready to make the switch but this is a barrier.

I have tried many of the settings with both driver options but am at a loss.

Thoughts? Advice? Help.

Thanks

Hello @Argon66,

Can you send me a copy of the “Debug Info”? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message

this is with the ASIO driver.
I can also use WASAPI too

Did you try to manually select DoP 1.0?

The Chord 2Qute does not have a manual interface. But it does by default handle DSD over DoP.
In terms of the Audirvana interface, there are no manual settings presented in ASIO to fine tune what is going on other than upsampling.

If I use the WASAPI driver more options are presented…but no success there too.

This is with WASAPI and DSD over pcm 1.0 selected

Can’t you do the same with ASIO?

No. That would be ideal and I have high expectation it might be the answer, but the Audirvana interface does not provide that option in ASIO.

Actually an open diver settings button is presented and I’ve clicked on it a 100 times but nothing opens

Looks like a driver issue to me.

No. Unfortunately it works perfectly in Jriver.

Well, in JRiver you can override the information the driver provides. You can’t do that in Audirvana. There are good reasons for that, but of course in this case it’s a problem.

In wasapi I’m presented with a button “native Dsd streaming method”. Clicking on it allows me to select 3 options (none, dsd over pcm 1.0, dsd over pcm 1.1). None work because I need to be in ASIO mode.

In asio I am not presented this option in your interface at all. It does not exist. If so I think we would be rocking.

In Jriver the only difference is that in asio I am able to choose dsd over DoP. Not override anything other than chose the bitstream.

I think there may be an incompatibility that way things are coded to work with Chord Dacs. I’m reading a few other challenges in this this regard.

I’m way open to try anything but I’m pretty sure my dac isn’t faulty…

This would be unfortunate as I’d pick Audirvana over every think else I’m trying.

Have we reached the end of the line do you think?

Should note that in ASIO you do present a different button (call to action) to open my dac control panel. This is what won’t open which makes total sense as my chord dac does not have a control panel ( but will play dsd natively)

This also cannot be accessed in Jriver either for the same reason.

Bummer really because if I could chose dsd over Dop/pcm in ASIO we would be fine ( I think that was your first point).

Anyway bitracer I appreciate you helping I want this to work in a big way.

Yep, the driver claim is inconsistent with what it does. Chord should really fix this.

There are reasons why you don’t want to override this, for example to avoid ear piercing noise should you set the wrong options by mistake. It could also cause damage to your gear.

You could use a Mac if that is an option for you.

Bummer.

I do have a MacBook.
I’d have to reformat my external hard drive though. Choices.

Man digital sure isn’t easy. I do love that dac though. Crazy performance for the price. But it doesn’t do mqa. Another forum/digital hot topic!! Lol.

I think the ball is in my court.
