Equalizer

Audirvana Studio equalizer issue: works with USB but not with UPnP
I’m experiencing an issue with the new equalizer function that was recently added to Audirvana Studio.
Situation:
Works correctly: When I connect my audio device to the Mac via USB connection, the equalizer applies perfectly and I can clearly hear the audio modifications
Doesn’t work: When I use the same audio device via UPnP connection, the equalizer has no effect on the reproduced sound
Questions:
Is it normal for Audirvana Studio’s equalizer to only work with USB connections?
Are there any particular settings I need to configure to make the equalizer work with UPnP devices as well?
Is this a technical limitation of the UPnP protocol or a software bug?
Technical details:
Software: Audirvana Studio (latest version)
Operating system: macOS
Audio device: [insert your device model]
Connections tested: USB (working) vs UPnP (not working)
I would really appreciate a technical explanation of why this difference exists, as I find the equalizer function truly fantastic when it works.

If you want to tweak the EQ while music is playing , there’s one more switch to turn on:

  • Enable ā€œRealtime control (not for DSD playback)ā€
  • You can still use the EQ on your DSD files or while playing using UPNP or Chromecast, but not in real time. To do so, disable ā€œRealtime controlā€ and press ā€œConfigureā€ under ā€œUse Audirvāna EQā€ to design your EQ before playing the track.
