Probably after upgrading macOS to 15.2 beta, Audirvana Origin won’t work as expected, as follows:
Initially Audirvana Origin works fine. But when I stop Audirvana Origin then I use the Zoom client (for online meetings), finish the meeting, quit the Zoom app, then try to start listening back to music with Audirvana Origin, it will always say “Error starting device playback”.
The only solution for this I could find so far is, to restart the Mac.
This happens both with “Music Integrated Mode (legacy)” and normal mode.
Is this behavior related to the (pre-release beta version of) macOS, or Zoom client, or the Audirvana Origin? Any info would be appreciated.
It never happened with the Sonoma 15.1 (release) and all previous versions. So it could be some bugs on 15.2 beta1/beta2, or some OS internal change(s) around sound routing after 15.1.
Interestingly, after I use Microsoft Teams for online meeting(s), Audirvana Origin can play music without any issues, even with “Exclusive Access” set to on.
So the issue would likely to be related to the audio layer of the Zoom app instead…
(I totally understand that I should separate macs for work and for playing high quality music)
