FLAC ok, M4A not ok

I am taking my first steps with Audirvana.

Syncing the directories on my NAS with my 24bit FLAC files (about 2500 albums) as well my SACD ISO-files worked rather easy. Somehow I cannot sync the directory with my Apple Lossless (AAC) files (about 16000 albums). It doesn’t recognize any album. Are there any restrictions regarding m4a files ?

Bought Apple music, those are locked i think.

Welcome…

Use this in conjunction with your Local folders…

I have ripped my CD’s with EAC3 (Exact Audio Copy) and converted them to Apple lossless (aac) with dBpoweramp. The tags I have edited with Tag&Rename. The files do not have any DRM or whatsoever.

Don’t get why Audirvana does not / cannot scan them properly

Can I only use the iTunes library and not scan in the m4a files directly into Audirvana?

In your title you say mp4, to me you wrote aac to @Agoldnear you say m4a… what is the real format?

Maybe Audirvana can’t scan the folder they are in?

uuupps should be m4a, adjusted the title now

m4a is the container format for the aac (apple lossless) files

Try to copy one of those cd’s to desktop and load that album in Audirvana…

All CD rips have DRM… if you altered the meta-data this may be triggering the DRM scheme…
Just play them from the folder as they were ripped…

ALAC is Apple lossless not AAC.

i have plenty of ALAC and some AAC without any issues
