HDMI channel mapping

When using the HDMI interface my Denon AVC-X4700H always shows that all channels are in use. If I configure stereo mode only in Audirvana there is no effect. Always all channels are used. That’s a problem because when hearing stereo music, my receiver is configured not to use my sub woofer. But I never get stereo from Audirvana.
In other words: When switching to stereo output in Audirvana only two channels should be enabled. The same as when switching to two channels in macOS Audio-Midi-Setup - this works.
Following the info from Audirvana for both cases.

Another issue I haven’t had with Audirvana 3.5.50 is that when I map channel 1 and 2 to my 7.1 back surround speakers (Configure speakers in Audio-Midi-Setup and without the stereo option in Audirvana) I was able to hear stereo music with them. With Audirvana Origin there is no sound from my back surround speakers. Please see the third log from Audirvana.

So you mean that when you are in this configuration you do not hear your music in Stereo?

in this configuration I can hear stereo. The problem is that my AV receiver has all channels active.
It is different when I switch to 2 channels in the Audio-Midi-Setup tool. Then the receiver has only two channels active.

Another effect: When I switch to 8 channels in the Audio-Midi-Setup before starting Audirvana, Audirvana shows 7.1 channels in its configuration. When then playing anything in Audirvana (could be also stereo) it shows 8.0 channels in its configuration. I don’t know if this is a useful information for you.

In this configuration I cannot hear anything when my surround back speakers are configured as 1 and 2 in Audio-Midi-Setup. Their default configuration is 7 and 8.
