Help on a mac mini initial set up

I have a late 2014 Mac Mini 8gig ram / 500 gig ssd. I wiped it to use as a music server exclusively.
I have downloaded a trial version of Audirvana and it is up and running.
I will run an AudioQuest Carbon USB to a Benchmark 3 HGC DAC/ Preamp and from there to a Purifi based class D amp. I currently have a Bluesound node 2i running through the Benchmark via digital coax and results are very good.
I wanted to run my iTunes through the Audirvana to optimize my cd collection. My collection is loaded at Apple Lossless.
I am not sure how to best set up my Mac Mini and the audirvana to do this. I have read other threads but I am still unsure. I am a novice at understanding the workings of the mac. I have looked into the midi set up but do not understand it and how to best set it up.
anyway ----- any help from a veteran out there would be appreciated.

‘Initial set-up’ I meant to type

You can try to enable upsampling in the audio output settings of Audirvana. You can first try with “Power of 2”. If you have audio issue after enabling it, you then need to deactivate it.
