How to chose muitlchannel or stereo "layer"?

Hi, as told before Audirvana only shows the multichannel songs from the SACD ISO. My system can reproduce both, but how can I chose?
In other softwares, you can see all songs (repeated) stereo first, and then multichannel, that is also a little annoying, but at least, you can chose what “layer” you want to listen to.

Hello @blackmore1514k, you should be able to switch between multichannel and stereo in your audio output setting of your DAC (mine is only stereo)

Hello.
My DAC (Oppo 205) supports SACD multichannel, but I’m not able to switch audio in an ISO file. Only “stereo” appears and it’s not switchable.
My Audirvana version (on Mac) is the last one (3.5.38).

Have you tried to connect it via HDMI or SPDIF? It seems to be the only way to get multichannel with this this DAC as i can read it on the user manual.

That is correct. USB-B port DAC is only STEREO. HDMI is both stereo and multichannel.

I think Oppo should accept and decode DSD signal (stereo and MCH) via USB. If not, maybe could be an Audirvana problem.
When I play SACD discs I have no problem to switch from stereo to MCH track. It should happen with Audirvana player too.
I don’t know if DSD signal goes out from Mac HDMI port (MAC doesn’t have a SPDF port), but I think no.

HDMI is just a port like USB, it transmit information from one device to another so yes, you will be able to send DSD through the HDMI port of your Mac.

I just tried to connect both Oppo 205 or Emotiva XMC-2 via HDMI. In both cases it works only if Audirvana converts the DSD signal to PCM. System detects 7.1Ch and you can switch, but Oppo or Emotiva doesn’t do the conversion. Oppo decodes native DSD signal, so it should be the best way for audio quality. Sw conversion never will be better.
I don’t know why Oppo doesn’t recognize MCH signal over USB or network connection.
Could you try to find more infos about?

It’s a manufacturing choice made by Oppo, the best way would be to ask them, it think they preferred to stick to HDMI for DSD and the speed it of this connectivity or maybe they have more knowledge about it.
