If I change e.g. an album cover in my music folder (i have 30), then Origin starts synchronizing whole the folder, not just the one album, sometimes all of my 30 folders.
But even if I open one of my music folders to find something (just open, doesn’t change anything), the Origin also re-scans the whole folder.
Please fix this bug because I can’t use it while it’s synchronizing (for me is more than 2 days of 50TB) because the application partially freezes.
Is it possible to stop automatic synchronization (of course, resynchronization at every start is turned off)?
I want nothing more than to add new albums and listen to them.
In addition, for some reason it doesn’t see 1000 songs from time to time and therefore it automatically re-synchronizes all my music and then finds the missing tracks, then once again loses it and starts the whole process again.
This automatic sync is a very good idea as long as someone has a maximum of 10,000 songs and syncs them in 2 minutes
This is all very annoying please do something
One more thing, some applications work at 500-600% while the original freezes above 100%. is it possible to change this manually somehow? My Mac hardly uses any of the 64 GB of memory and processor power.
I’ve been trying to solve in the past the Automatic Sync problem in my Mac. I have an alternative solution for this.
I tried to solve this through the Audirvana support team and they told me that can be related to the existence of some videos in one of the disks and Audirvana has problems also dealing with very large music libraries.
I’m using a Mac Pro 5,1 and Mac OS Mojave 10.14 so, maybe the people on PC have other solution.
Me as many people, when you open Audirvana the program becomes unusable. You can not edit, search, get info, go to preference etc.
The solution is to force quit the program and open it again. How?
Well:
(command+option+escape) then select the app from the list of active applications then click OK.
Reopen Audirvana and Voilà the app is not longer synching.
If you add later music to one of your Monitored Folders, just open Audirvana preferences and click on the Sync button and wait, probably a looong time, until it finish.
Get a coffe and do something else in my case can take more than an hour.

Thank you very much for your idea, but unfortunately, after Force Quit, the sync starts randomly again. Although newer versions of Origin are already working better. Anyway i hope Audirvana will solve this problem in the future…

I resume this thread because I was somehow relieved that I am not the only one suffering the ages that Audirvana takes to sync local folders.
I have 15TB external HD and it takes days…EVERY TIME. I’d understand the first time, but not EVERY TIME
If I may make a comparison here, competitor Roon takes few seconds, just minutes when I add several new records. I wonder why such a difference and such a huge problem.
I contacted myself the support, but it didn’t help much, despite several online appointments (thanks to Antoine for his availability).
Problem is that what I believe is the best SW online in terms of Quality of music output, it’s almost impossible to use since the sync starts randomly, despite the fact that I have disabled the automatic rescan at start, more often just when you open the SW to use it!
This is such an important issue that makes me think to give up the SW when my subscription will end, because it is really unmanageable. I have MAC and apparently it is worse on it than on PC (I see that some users here above have decent experience stopping undesired syncs - probably Windows users?)
