Kernel Streaming -- Getting noise at end of track

I get a loud “pop” between songs in kernel mode. Doesn’t happen using ASIO.

Update to 1.5.7 yesterday. Noise pops between songs keep coming. Using Kernel Streaming and upsampling to PCM 24/192.

I retested kernel streaming with Windows 10 and Studio 1.5.5. The problem I noted in the original post seems to have been fixed; no more white noise at the end of each track. However, now I have new problems with kernel streaming: (1) when I pause playback of a DSD file, my DAC indicates that the input from Studio is oscillating rapidly between PCM and DSD, and (2) after playing many DSD tracks and then pausing the last track, I get a clicking sound. Testing kernel streaming eventually caused my DAC to crash (I had to reboot the DAC). ??? @Antoine

I am reverting back to using the ASIO driver until there is another Studio release. Seems like kernel streaming with Windows 10 is a dog’s breakfast. I am also wondering if kernel streaming will even work with the upcoming Windows 11?

[DAC is Mytek Brooklyn DAC+ and I am using the USB input.]

Decrease the buffer to 500Mb (. 5Gb) and the problem goes away.
Is a computer problem

0.5 GB doesn’t help

Hello i have the same problem in Kernel mode ! I cant use this mode anymore because of the noise at the end of each track. Don’t want to damage my new speakers so i use wasapi or Asio.
When will it be fixed ?

Long time problem, still existing. Things got better. However, seems hard to resolve. Especially, when it has upsampling on.

I am still getting it also using Kernel Streaming. It does seem to be quieter now but it still does it. I dont use upsampling. I have it plugged into a Chord Qutest via USB.

I have the same problem, some albums have it more than others.
No upsampling, via USB.

I posted a response in another thread on this subject so in case you missed that I have found that if the volume control in Audirvana is turned on (but not necessary to use it - set to 0.0db) this problem goes away.
