I’ve posted this issue before. Now that the new remote has been released, I thought I would try to use AV Studio again. The remote does work with both versions of AV, but when using Studio, the Lock Button icon changes to an unlock position when tapped, but I can only get a second or two of music to play through my audio device before Studio grabs control and disconnects my other input software (Pandora in this case via Airplay). The volume control indicator in AVS flickers as it grabs control. If I Quit AVS, all works as it’s supposed to. I have no problems with audio unit control with AV 3.5. I need some help here or will not be renewing my subscription next year.
SAME PROBLEM EXISTS !!! New release acts exactly as I described above. Is anyone reading these posts?? I can only use 3.5.5, not Studio. Please help: Thanks - Louis
Hello @Lpengue,
Can you send us a copy of the “Debug Info” when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account
Please remove the line corresponding to your logged-in account to avoid displaying your email address and first name/last name publicly.
Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message
Debug info below.
I used Studio to play an album and cycle through several tracks. I then used the remote app to pause and then STOP play. The Lock icon changed to Unlock. I then went to Pandora on my mobile device and connected to the remote Audio Device that Studio was playing through using an Ethernet connection. Pandora is using an Airplay connection. Pandora connects to the Audio Device, but when I try to play music, I get a second or less of play through the Audio Device, and at the same time Studio shows the volume control bar cycle to off and full on again. Pandora is now disconnected from the Audio Device. I went through the process several times with no change. 3.5.5 fully releases the Audio Device and Pandora plays with no issues. With Studio, I have to shut down the app to regain control of the Audio Device.
Hope this helps.

When you change your output to Airplay with Pandora, does MacOS is completely switched to Airplay? You can see this in the sound output of your Mac settings.
The “Sound Output” on the MiniMac’s settings always show Airplay regardless of using Studio, 3.5.5, or Pandora. I don’t use Airplay to connect Audirvana to the Mac or the Mac’s sound output to connect Audirvana to the audio device. I use an Ethernet connection for Audirvana, and Airplay for Pandora or other Airplay sources. Airplay does nor support HiRes playback, that’s why I use Ethernet (Hardwired) for Audirvana.
For Airplay connected devices, wifi is used for the audio connection - there are no audio connections between the MiniMac and the audio device.
Hallo Antoine, i got Problems unlook to get Music played from my NAS or Radio please tell me how i can unlook to play Music.
Heinz
Can you open Audirvana settings and take a look at the selected device while you have this behavior? What is the device selected when the issue occur?
The device selected is the Audio Device (CP-800) and the connection shows Ethernet. This info does not change while the connection problem occurs.
Antoine, I’ve loaded the latest update to Studio, and there is no change in behavior. It still does not release my audio device. AV 3.5 continues to work, but my subscription to Studio is going to waste.
Do you have Audirvāna 3.5 with your device selected opened when you use your device in Audirvāna Studio?
In case my earlier reply did not post - I always quit any running versions of AV before starting the other version.
Antoine, I’ve updated Studio to the latest version and updated the Remote for IOS devices. The problem persists and may be worse. If AS is running it takes control of my UPnP device and won’t let me change the input of the UPnP device to a non-Ethernet source using the Audio Devices own remote app. I have to shut down AS to regain control of the Audio Device
Antoine, Studio is even worse now. It takes control of my audio unit and won’t release it. I can’t even turn off the audio unit with its own remote control. AVS turns it back on. I still have to quit AVS to connect any other audio source to it. While using AVS, not works fine. I like the added functionality, but since I run AVS on a headless Mac Mini, its very difficult to turn quit AVS.
Antoine - haven’t heard from you in a long while. The “Won’t Release” problem persists. If my audio unit is turned on and playing a network source (via airplay); as soon as I start AS on my mini Mac, the audio unit is taken over by AS and all other sources are blocked. I can’t force the audio unit to play any other source as long as AS is running (not playing - just running). As soon as I Quit AS, the audio unit performs normally again. Audirvana V3.5.5 has NO problems. If 3.5.5 is not playing, I can stream from any other network source with no problems. 3.5.5 can remain running - it does not cause control problems. What’s different with AS that causes these control problems???
