M3u8 Playlist from Plex not importing

I’m trying to import play lists from Plex, which I’ve exported in the m3u8 format. All of the tracks live on my Synology NAS. I modified the Plex m3u8 file so that the paths match that what a test export from Audirvana showed for my tracks.

This is a sample export from Audirvana so that you can see where it thinks my tracks are:

From my eye, everything lines up. But Audirvana freezes for a little bit when I import the playlist, but then nothing shows up in the playlist list.

Ideas? This is a show-stopper issue (currently in free trial) if I can’t get my extensive Plex playlists imported.

Not sure, but i think it should be in m3u format.

Well that’s not an option in the Plex exporter…it’s m3u8. But just for testing I did a manual conversion, but the playlist still won’t import. Here’s a sample line that won’t import:

I never try that, but there is no free software that allow to edit
exported m3u8 to m3u in 2020 ??

That didn’t work…and I did another test:

Create playlist in Audirvana with just one song
Exported the playlist to my desktop (using both relative and absolute paths)
Tried to import the playlist and it didn’t import

It appears to me the import function is broken?

Can you send me a copy of the “Debug Info”? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

Your Nas is not seen by Audirvana and your computer, can you check your firewall settings: In System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options > Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections check that this setting is selected and “Block all incoming connections” is not selected.

Those settings match. It appears Audirvana is confused about the network/NAS state. I can play tracks just fine, but it still shows “OFFLINE” in debug even though I quit and re-started the app.

Meanwhile I drilled down differences of iTunes and Audirvana playlists:

iTunes’ head of playlist: #EXTM3U; A’s head of playlist: nothing
deleting the head of the iTunes playlist didn’t allow the import
1st line of a track differs in iTunes: it ads " - name of artist" to what A uses; the 2nd line is identical; deleting the artists name didn’t allow the import

I created a playlist with a smart playlist head from A (taken from an existing other exported smart playlist in A), changed the name to the one I want to import, deleted all but 1 track and deleted the artists name in the 1st line. Import was possible, but no tracks were shown.
