More buffering problems

I’ve had so many problems with buffering issues, tracks not playing properly, jumping around, cutting bits off, failing to play short tracks, but I thought it was all to do with streaming from Qobuz.
Now I have had a similar problem with local iTunes files, so it has nothing to do with Qobuz at all.
It doesn’t seem possible to put things in a play queue, move them around and delete some, without the remaining songs in the list playing wrong. This is either the end of the song not playing or the start of the next song skipping around, missing a bit, or playing for a few seconds and then stopping.
This is completely maddening, I really wish I hadn’t spent my money on this program, but not that I have, I’m going to complain until this is fixed. Properly.

Try turning upsampling off first, no sox, just play your songs as they are suppose to play and see

Also turn on the “Hog mode”. Reduce the buffer to 2GB (2048 MB).

Done these now. Makes no difference. I can’t believe the audio driver has anything to do with it.
It’s something to do with the pre-buffering which Audirvana does, and screws up when tracks are re-ordered or deleted from the queue. Nothing to do with sample rates or upsampling or audio drivers.

Dominic

maybe Audirvana doesn’t have the privileges to access your music folder since you are on Catalina… did you grant access?

Why again another user that use this F**king Apple folder… can you just make a folder somewhere and put a couples of your groups in and add only that folder to Audirvana and forget iTunes path or Music now on Catalina for once, and see…

There is no buffering issues playing songs as they are with Audirvana or with HQPlayer or JRiver… you can load any song with 4gb of memory not touching those upsampling settings or trying to stream with your internet connection… all those players will play easily any of those songs without bugs…

If you use Catalina, there is more security with it, you have to grant access to some folders when starting some software… maybe you miss it… again don’t play with the devil (Apple) and use his folder for your music… quite simple… they f**ked things up everytime they release something…

play safe, use Audirvana alone and choose what folder you want your things in…

Regarding Apple file permissions: this isn’t likely to be relevant, as the same problem exists when streaming Qobuz files, without a local file store.
This isn’t a Catalina problem, it existed when I was using Mojave too. It’s an internal Audirvana buffering problem with songs which have been placed in the queue and then moved/re-ordered or deleted.

Something else is wrong here, most likely not related to Audirvana. Have you tried playing through other software to check if you’re having the same issue?

Stop playing when reordering a Playlist?

Based on what evidence? iTunes plays fine, as mentioned already.

I’ll try that. It’s so consistently messed up that I can work out whether that helps quite quickly.
Tonight I emptied the playlist, added two songs to it and then pressed play. The second one cut the last few seconds off. Useless.

I have the same setup (very similar) and it’s working without any issues at all. I also stream from Qobuz.

This sounds like a networking issue. Have you tried connecting via Ethernet (wired)?

No, I don’t have an Ethernet port. And it happens when I play local files (iTunes) too. So I don’t believe it’s streaming related.
