This is the aspect that seems to be pertinent… The system is not defining the 6ch signal capability as 1-bit PDM (DSD) … it is describing 6ch LPCM at 2.8MHz capability…
This could be because the Oppo uses Dual ESS ES9038PRO Sabre Pro DACs which decimate DSD to PCM for output.

Okay, do you know where you saw that you can output multichannel over UPnP to the device in the manual?
I have played both DSD (dsf) files: such as
and pcm files.
Both of those files, stored on my NAS play as multichannel if I use the Oppo “MediaControl” app to play the music via UPnP in the Oppo 205 into the Yamaha AVR via HDMI. But when I seek to play the exact same files by Audirvana via UPnP in the Oppo 205 going to the same Yamaha via HDMI with the same settings in the Yamaha AVR (Straight) I get sound only on the F/L channels. As this is UPnP and assuming I use neither upsampling nor DSP, I think the only difference would be the more convenient and elegant interface of Audirvana rather than a sonic difference.
When I play my multi-channel files from the NAS using the Oppo “MediaControl” app, they are accessed via UPnP and both did and pcm files are played in multichannel format. There is no announced or observed limitation. The table below should apply.
For what it’s worth, the answers I get through ChatGPT are that the Oppo 205 can play multichannel over UPnP but should receive it in PCM. So I went back to disable DSD in Audirvana to force the conversion to PCM, but still have the same results.
I believe all conditions are met…

There is no description of 5.1 DSD support or 5.1 LPCM support via the network connection in the User Manual… only support for SACD and DVD-A… If the proprietary “Media Control” is providing functionality via UPnP, this control interface may be providing the metadata regarding copyright protection DRM (Digital Rights Management)…
What output connections are you employing? The manual states that the independent L,C,R,F,LS,RS are served by the DAC… However, DRM copyright protections are handled via HDMI.
The UDP-205 is equipped with a 7.1ch analog audio output section that can be connected to the 7.1ch analog input section of an A/V receiver or amplifier for audio output. This method is required if the A/V receiver does not have HDMI inputs. It is also a preferred connection method for taking advantage of the UDP-205’s advanced digital-to-analog converter (DAC).
• Please use up to 8 RCA-style audio interconnect cables to connect the FL (Front Left), FR (Front Right), SL (Surround Left), SR (Surround Right), C (Center), SW (Subwoofer), SBL (Surround Back Left) and SBR (Surround Back Right) analog output terminals of the UDP-205 to the corresponding multi-channel analog audio input jacks of your A/V receiver or amplifier.
• If the A/V receiver or amplifier only has 5.1ch audio inputs, you can omit the SBL (Surround Back Left) and SBR (Surround Back Right) outputs. In the Setup Menu, set the Down Mix Mode to 5.1ch in the Speaker Configuration section (refer to Down Mix Mode on page 68).
Due to bandwidth limitations, high resolution audio formats such as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution and DTS-HD Master Audio cannot be sent through the coaxial or optical digital audio output. A reduced resolution version of the same audio track will be output instead. To listen to high resolution audio formats in their best quality, please use the HDMI connection if you have a receiver that handles HDMI audio (see page 12) or use the multi-channel analog outputs if you do not (see page 15).
• Due to copyright restrictions, SACD audio cannot be sent through the coaxial or optical digital audio output. To listen to SACDs, please use the HDMI or analog audio connections.

Output from the Oppo to the AVR is by HDMI indeed. As mentioned in my latest post above, multi-channel with input of the files to the Oppo 205 over UPnP is supposed to work as long as the feed is converted/received as PCM, in .wav or Flac, over ethernet, not wifi. All of which is done at least in the last couple of examples. Media Control does seem to convert the DSD files as both DSD and PCM files are working over UPnP. Indeed, the manual is silent on these questions.
So, it appears to be DRM related in this case… The control app may be handling DRM metadata.
Note: Try playing a .iso file… The player is bound by DRM.
I don’t see where you determined UPnP compatibility of the Oppo player…

I Have a very similar problem with a Panasonic DMP BDT 700 used as a renderer and the Linux/NAS version of Studio on a QNAP NAS. UPNP only works in stereo, Error message with every tried option for 5.1 channels (“Do Not Use RAW PCM” and “Fix for devices with unwanted Playback stops” and “Universal gapless playback mode” , I also tried several options for PCM Rate and Bitdepth ). I used 5.1 channel flac files to play with audirvana. The Panasonic receives and plays multichannel flac files from Bubble UPnP, but not from neutron player on my phone which sends files without a distinct length information, which may be the problem. The Panasonics Specifications say it is able to receive linear PCM through UPNP.
Stereo also works from neutron player as it does from audirvana. I have given up for the moment …

here is the debug info. It is from the audirvana origin insatallation on my PC, because it was easier to send when I#m working on the PC. Behavier is the same as with the studio installation on the QNAP NAS. If you need it, I can also send the info from the NAS Instaalation or with different settings (no raw PCM e.g.) or record a log.
