No HiRes available on Tidal Since July 24th

Hi there! Since Tidal removal of all MQA files :raised_hands: on July 24th, Audirvana only streams 16/44.1kHz and I set my Tidal for MASTER quality.

Hi @Morato,

Since activating TIDAL Hi-Res FLAC on our partner API, TIDAL has yet to provide as many MQA tracks as before. It should display the Hi-Res FLAC tracks, but TIDAL implementation in version 3.5 was before this activation. Therefore, the Hi-Res is not recognized by Audirvāna version 3.5 and is limited to 16/44 CD quality.

Audirvāna Studio is the only version of Audirvāna that does support the Hi-res FLAC from TIDAL.

WOW that’s so frustrating to hear, especially caused this is a paid app that should be able to stream HiRes FLAC files, I’m sure there’s no difference from Tidal’s to Qobuz’s… I feel like being forced to pay a subscription… disappointing the least :frowning:

Disappointing, yes, but Tidal changed the rules, not Audirvana.
Audirvana 3.5 is deprecated.

IDK i don’t buy that explanation… it’s like Tidal told Audirvana: “Hey, we will give you access to HiRes but only to your monthly paid software”… like, really??

I understand your frustration, but that is not how it works. @reddog1 's explanation is completely correct. I am afraid you are barking upon the wrong tree here.

Tidal changed their API (Application Programming Interface) in such a way that it is not compatible with Audirvana 3.5 anymore. Qobuz, for instance, uses their own API (which is completely different from Tidal’s), also changed some things, but kept it backwards compatible. That is why Qobuz still works fine on Audirvana 3.5 and Tidal does not.

Audirvana 3.5 is a deprecated version (and not maintained anymore). Audirvana Studio is the current version and still maintained.

You should file a complaint with Tidal why they changed their API and broke their backwards compatibility with older music software.
