Roon lifetime license seems risky to me as an investment. Iām not sure that Roon will continue to exist in 3 to 5 years, as it is too closely tied to Tidal and Qobuz who may be pushed out of business by Apple, Amazon and Spotify.
If you pay for a subscription, itās an expense. If you buy a lifetime license, especially a $700 license, itās an investment.
I read the 3.5xx update to A+ worked on Mac chips.
No longer availableā¦Not sure when it was pulled or how long it was available.
I know Roon for trying it in the past. And I have a two months voucher for a new trial. Iāll try Roon with it, when Iāll have more free time for that.
You got that wrong. The 3.5 supports M1 chips, itās universal binary. Audirvana stopped selling licenses for it when the new version (Audirvana Studio) was released. If you have a valid license for 3.5 you can still use it on M1 Macs. Nothing was āpulledā.
Yes.
It looks like if you bought 3.5 you can access. But canāt find an update if you stalled out on updates back ~3.x.
I tend to skip updates once I have an app that is stable so had not been updating A+ recently so missed any opportunity to buy in to a last minute up grade that will last a little longerā¦
Send an email according to the FAQ. Then you get the desired version.
I think Tidal just got way more āsaveā, as it has been acquired by the US company Square. As I am invested in Square, I know there is no danger of going out of business for Tidal in the next yearsā¦
Therefor, Roon is a rather safe bet, too.
They only do that because there is no choice for most, since a one-off license costs USD 700.
Opinions, eh?

A silly opinion, same as are the silly opinions of those who do not agree with the subscription.
So here we have a drawā¦
