Noise at the end of each track befor next track starts

Hi Folks

I am using Studio latest windows version (Audirvana version 2.8.4 and today is 2024-09-10).
Kernel streaming version showed that it has issue with noise (around 1 second) at the end of each track before next track.
After searching , it shows that there is work around if you active volume control and keep it untouched to 0.0 dB , there will be no more noise !
ASIO and WASAPI has not this issue at all.
My question is that this is very old bugs, why they didn’t fix it with all these years?
It seems no body read this forum from Audirvana!
Is there any idea?!

Hi @Paul_65,

If it was easy to fix, we might have fixed it for a long time :stuck_out_tongue:
Unfortunately, it isn’t easy, so we go one step at a time.

Can you send us a copy of the "Debug Info“ when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account.

Note: When you click on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content. Please paste it in response to this message.

ok, here you are , if that helps !

Hi @Paul_65,

Suppose you remove this setting in the audio output section of Audirvāna. Do you still get this noise? Other than that, do you get this with specific sample rates?

Hi
I did as you said and let the Audirvana play itself in several hours , then I write down the sample and bit for each song when the noise it comes at next track , results as follow:
there is no correlation , it seems that work around at first place solve the problem, but it is very annoying bug. it is not bit perfect as Audirvana claim in their web site!

1s noise at end 16/44.1khz >>> 24/48khz
no noise 24/48khz >>> 16/44.1khz
1s noise at end 16/44.1khz >>> 16/44.1khz
1s noise at end 16/44.1khz >>> 16/44.1khz
1s noise at end 16/44.1khz >>> 16/44.1khz
1s noise at end 16/44.1khz >>> 16/44.1khz
1s noise at end 16/44.1khz >>> 24/192khz
no noise 24/192khz >>> 24/44.1khz
1s noise at end 24/44.1khz >>> 16/44.1khz
no noise 16/44.1khz >>> 16/44.1khz
1s noise at end 16/44.1khz >>> 16/44.1khz
no noise 16/44.1khz >>> 24/48khz

Do you have this issue with WASAPI?

ASIO and WASAPI has not this issue at all

We have to work on Kernel Streaming, but such a change requires some time. I can’t tell you when it will be available, but we are aware of this issue and will take care of it.

I too have been dealing with this and tried about everything from removing my fidelizer, changing the buffering, reinstalling program and I can’t remember everything else but to no avail. THEN about a week ago I am not sure what I did but I have not recently gotten that very loud scratch sound when the song auto advances to the next track. If I click on the track change it never made the sound only when I let the album play straight through. I would love to know what causes it. I do have Jplay and do use Kernal streaming Thanks, Jim

Hi,
As I and some others posted (don’t remember what the topic was called) uninstalling ASIO driver worked for me.
Somehow, don’t know how or why, it is related. :slightly_smiling_face:
I use Kernel and since removing the ASIO it never happened again.

I would like to try your fix. How do you remove the ASIO driver but keep the WASAPI? Thanks!
