Origin 2.6.5 does not output 7.1 audio? (Studio has no problem.)

Equipment: - Mac Studio M2 Ultra w/ 192GB, running Tahoe 26.5; Lynx Studio Hilo 2 w/ TB3 connection; Origin 2.6.5; Studio 3.0.4

I only noticed this phenomena today when I finished giving Studio 3.0 a 30-day trial. Usually my multichannel tracks are 4.0 or 5.1, but during the trial I added some 7.1 tracks. Studio played them great. But now that I am back to Origin, 2 channels are missing. (Using the HiloRemote Mixer to view track playback, etc.)

Confirmed that it’s not a hardware issue by loading those tracks in Adobe Audition. All 8 channels played back great.

Within Studio, it made no difference whether or not I had “Ignore audio file channel layout information” selected or not. Under Apple’s Audio MIDI Setup, I have 7.1 selected for the Hilo under “Configure Speakers.”

I HATE HATE HATE the new UI for Studio 3.0. (More clicks required to do basic tasks; Sort Order is Global, not specific to Playlists; Title Bar remains visible when in Full Screen mode; el al) Not keen on having to pony up for a subscription just to get 7.1 playback which should be working in Origin anyway. (The product pages make no reference to Origin being 5.1 maximum.)

I still had Origin 2.3.2 installed and fired that up to see if the issue only appeared recently? Nope! No 7.1.

Thoughts?
