Playback starts intermittently

Dear Antoine!, there were already a lot of duplicate tracks, so I deleted Audirvana Origin, then AudirvanaDatabase.sqlite file and reinstalled everything, then I scanned my music. The double files disappeared, but since then, when I want to play a new track, it starts stuttering. It shuts down, restarts, shuts down and so on. It’s like it doesn’t load the file continuously. I am attaching the Debug info. Can you help?

Hi,

I see that your music is on an external volume: /Volumes/music/ZENE. Is it a folder located on an external disk or or a NAS?
If it is a NAS, is your computer connected to the network via Wifi or are you using a wired connection?
If you are on wifi, can you try a wired connection and see if you get some improvement?

Update your buggy Monterey to 13.4 as soon as you can…

Hi @StPeter ,

Can you update to MacOS 13.4 and then try again to reproduce your issue?

Yes, I updated to MacOS 13.4 and the problem went away.
Thanx.

Dear Antoine, the problem I described earlier has appeared several times since then (when I want to play a new track, it starts to hang. It shuts down, restarts, stops and so on. It’s like it doesn’t load the file continuously). Since then, I have already uninstalled Origin once and then reinstalled it. It worked fine for a while, but then the music playback started stuttering again. I make sure that my computer always has the latest operating system version. I read on the Forum, but I did not find a suitable solution for my problem. This makes listening to music unenjoyable. I store my music on a Synology NAS and play it from there. There is a wired connection between the NAS and the computer. I am attaching the Debug info. Can you help?

Does the track load or not at all? Do you see something happening on your Mytek when you want to play a track?

One more thing tho, do you have this behavior while using the iMac speakers?

Sometimes the track starts to load very slowly, sometimes you have to wait half a minute. Then the playback stops from time to time and starts again after a while. It looks like a bandwidth or processing speed issue. The Lan bandwidth between the NAS and the iMac Pro (approx. 5000 Mbit/s) is more than enough for listening to music.
Mytech’s display shows set information, volume and music file format.
I’m not using the iMac speakers, but a pair of Argon 3s speakers driven by a two-channel 3D Lab Nano amplifier.

Ok, you get this behavior whatever the type of track you try to play (DSD, FLAC, etc…)?

I understand, I just wanted to know if you have the same issue when you are using a different output like the iMac speakers. Is it the case?

I tried it with the iMac speaker, same phenomenon.

I made a short video with my phone of the slow start and the split. If you are interested, send me a contact where I can send it.

You can send it at support@audirvana.com

I sent it.

You are using almost all of your system RAM for playback pre-load memory… Drop this to 6GB
and set 'max I/O buffer size: “ON”

Thanks, I will try.

Dear Antoine, My correspondence with Support is a bit difficult as they are not responding recently. I am a long-time user of Audirva, I just started with 3.0. version. There have always been issues with the software, but it was more of an inconvenience and I persevered because Audirva has the best sound among competing media players. The sound experience is still good, but Audirvana Origin keeps producing errors that make me use it less and less. In the case of a paid service, it is unacceptable that a track sometimes only loads after waiting for half a minute, and then the playback stops several times. And Support doesn’t offer a solution or alternatives that I can try, in fact I don’t get anything from them because they don’t answer my emails. If this continues, I will regret to say goodbye to Audirvana.
