Player for linux?

Unfortunately, the standard installation of Audirvan is very unstable in WINE (missing libraries/dependencies; exclusion mode conflicts; buffer access issues; unresponsive UI; etc.).

Somehow, Jussi Laako found it worthwhile to create a simple but very convenient and practical HQP client also for Linux…

Well, only for iOS not Mac but a remote client for MacOS would be very welcome, instead of using the iOS version with a reduced window size

Sorry for not being clear: I was saying there is a Mac desktop version of Audirvana, not the remote.

If you have a M-processor in your Mac, you can install the iPadOS app en scale it up 2x.

Just popping in here rather than doing another thread. Handy to see where things stand.

Completely understandable that Linux isn’t the focus re a desktop solution, but will just add myself as a data point here.

I use Audrivana exclusively on my Windows Desktop. And I love it. Perfect implementation of local library with streaming in one place.

I’d kill for a Linux version of the desktop, because my long term plan is to go 100% linux, and Audirvana is the one app that I haven’t really got a good solution to. (Obviously have nice players for my local library and for Tidal, but nothing that combines.)

Anyhoo, will cross fingers.

I’ve been running the Linux version with the remote for so long that I don’t miss the desktop, so I’d be interested in learning from you what you feel the advantages of the desktop vs. the remote are in your usage.

I maybe a niche use case, I dunno. I don’t use Audirvana for any pushing out to my network speaker set up. I have wiims through out the house and Tidal app or Wiim app see me through for most use cases.

For me, it’s one job is to combine my music library sources on my desktop, where I work all day. When I’m at my desk I prefer desktop apps over phone. Have full control etc with keyboard etc easily.

Makes perfect sense, thanks. :+1:

One other thought is until and unless the business environment is appropriate for Audirvana to do a Linux desktop version, the closest you might get to that “feel” and convenience would be an iPad at the desk. But I don’t know whether that is something you’d want to bother with.
