Running old dedicated Audirvana MacBook with 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory. Upsamples without issue to maximum frequency of my processors(384). CPU runs at 25% capacity or less. When upsampling to 1x to 3x DSD processor is maxed out. Dropouts start at 2x. Fans go on to cool CPU. At 3x negative processed load of 16%. Is it time for a more powerful newer Mac or is something wrong.
I think so … I have a late 2011 i7 16GB ram Mac book pro and I can get dsd x1 without issues but dsd x2 is already too much, all the time cpu is running at more then 200% and fans become noisy
