Hi everyone,
This is a follow-up question regarding topic 41446. In that thread, the original poster asked whether it was possible to add songs directly to the play queue from the search screen. At the time (around six months ago), the answer seemed to be no.
My question is essentially the same: Has anything changed since then? Is there a way to do this now that I might be missing?
I’m a new user, and I haven’t found a way to add a song to the queue directly from the search results. The only method I’ve discovered is clicking “Tracks → See All” and then scrolling through a (sometimes quite extensive) list of tracks that match my query until I locate the one I’m looking for. Only then can I right-click it and select “Add to Queue.” This process feels frustratingly cumbersome, especially since the search results already display the track I want, but clicking on it immediately starts playback, overwriting my entire que, while right-clicking it does nothing.
A big thank you to everyone taking the time to read this, and also for taking the time to reply!
Nothing has changed since then. But we will improve the search and all aspects of the software during 2025.
Hi @zmw_adri and @Antoine This is able to be done already, the proviso being that you need to do your search through your remote. I use my iPad or iPhone. But to be honest, I haven’t tried it on my MacBook Air (it may work)
The key is under Settings/Appearance and come down to:
Default Track Tap Action
Select Play Next or Add to Play Queue (not Play Now and Replace Queue)
Do your search, look for the track you want and press it. I have it to play next and just added Kashmir to play next. If I had it set to Queue, it would have been added to that.
Cheers. Hope it works for you too.
Edit: Yep not going to work on Studio on the Macbook as there is no option under Settings/Appearance.
Hey @Antoine Thanks for the swift reply to my question. I’m definitely looking forward to the upcoming changes and curious to see how they’ll play out (great pun, I know!).
@ChiliHot, you are most certainly a certified and authenticated genius! No joke, this is a really clever workaround, and I honestly would have never thought to try this or look for a setting like that within the remote app. Thank you so much!
