I am currently using 3.5 but would like to do the trial month and then likely take a year’s subscription to Studio.
I just want to know if I will still be able to go back to 3.5 if I don’t find Studio compelling after a year?

Yes, I have both Studio and 3.5 installed concurrently on my PC and they both work.
Both installations have their own .sqlite database files.
Please note, as I’m sure you’re aware, that 3.5 is now discontinued and is no longer supported.
