Radio Cuts Out Frequently

I listen to Radio Paradise as background music but it frequently cuts out when using Audirvāna. I’m assuming it’s a buffering issue but my internet is pretty stable and when using Roon I don’t have the same problem. Is there some way to increase the buffering?

Hello @Ben54,

Can you send us a copy of the “Debug Info” when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message

I took this Debug Info just after Radio Paradise dropped out.

Hello @Ben54,

Can you please update to the latest version and then remove the audio units you have set and try to play Radio Paradise again?

I was using the latest version but I have deleted the app and downloaded and installed it again. You suggest “removing the Audio Units and trying Radio Paradise again.” I’m not sure what you mean by the audio units……sorry for my lack of knowledge. If you could let me know what the Audio Units are I will try again.

This is a Audio Unit:

Which can be deactivated here in Audirvāna sound settings:

Hi Antoine, I have reloaded the latest version of Audirvana Studio (I was using the latest version) and I have deactivated the Audio Units. I played Radio Paradise fr about 15 minutes before it dropped out again.

Can you go in your audio output settings and enable the option to not send RAW PCM stream?

Hi Antoine, many thanks for your help and suggestions. I have tried the RAW PCM setting as you have suggested and this seems to be working so far. I’ve had Radio Paradise running for a few hours now with no stoppages so far. By the way, I’m not sure if it’s my imagination but the sound quality seems to have improved slightly.

Anyway, thanks again and wishing you a merry Christmas

I’m back again….Radio Paradise is still dropping out after 20 or 30 minutes or so.

I also have another issue. I might have changed some settings (but can’t find where) that is resulting in only one track of an album playing. The play list shows the full album but the next track does not start. I have tried it with random play but while the first song is selected randomly, it stops after the track has finished.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi @Ben54,

For testing purpose, have you tried to reproduce this behavior with Chromecast over your TV or by playing the radio through the built-in output?

I haven’t tried that but will. I tried using the app directly from the Mac after I deleted the Mac and iPad versions and re installing the software. It does seem to be behaving correctly on albums. I will try radio tomorrow and also using the Mac speaker.

I have been playing Radio Paradise from the Audirvāna app on my Mac through the Mac speakers for over 6 hours and no issues with dropping out. It appears that connecting to my PS Audio DAC via UPnP is where the problem might be occurring.

Any ideas?

Ok, we are then narrowing the problem. Can you try enable the option in the audio output settings “Universal gapless playback” and then try again to play Radio Paradise?

I will try that and let you know how it goes….thanks

I will try that and let you know how it goes….thanks

I am now using my iPad to control the music and Radio Paradise has dropped out 4 times, lasting about 3-4 minutes of playing.

I had previously set universal hapless playback as suggested

The Radio Paradise is still cutting out after a short time. Also, when I play an album the first track plays but stops after that. I need to manually start each track.

I love the sound produced by Audirvāna but getting it behave and play correctly is a little frustrating. Any thoughts?
