Radio Doesn't Work in Studio

Try to play radio, get msg about loading and resolution, starts “playing” and… no sound. Sometimes get msg on problems in firewall and no problems in firewall.
Tidal works.

Upsampling radios over UPnP has not worked for me since very early builds of Studio. (It does work over a USB connection.) So what you need to do if you want to listen to radios with Audirvāna over UPnP is turn off upsampling completely using the remote.

Tested it… It doesn’t work with upsampling to dsd. Upsampling to 32/384 works!

Did further investigation today. Radio doesn’t work at all with dsd upsampling or with upsampling deactivated. All other upsamplings work. But-very unstable. It usually works several minutes at the start and after that-pops,pauses,or strange sounds like motorboating(Naim radio stations for instance)… Totally unusable.

Mine works OK with upsampling off for me. But the ideal would be a return to the situation early on, when no change in settings was necessary to play radio stations.

Have you tired turning on “Do not use RAW PCM” in the output device setting?

Thanks for tip. Turned it on and “Fix for devices with unwanted stops” as well. Now radio works in all modes except upsampling to dsd.
Sound quality is very good for internet radio - but it behaves in erratic manner all the time…

Today I did extended radio sessions with deactivated upsampling… and it worked almost perfect! No stops and pops. So with disabled “raw pcm”,no upsampling and enabled “fix for unwanted stops” radio mostly worked ok in my system. Even without upsampling mini player showed that signal was converted to PCM 32/44 or 32/48. But some problems for several stations stayed. NAIM CLASSICS for instance worked about 10min. and then strange sound like motorboating appeared.

I’ve found that radio and podcasts are not AS strong points. I can’t get my 2 favourite podcast to work at all. I’d suggest just using a different system for radio listening. Most stations only stream in low bandwidth signals anyway. AS is primarily designed for proper streaming platforms and your own library.

Can you go into the Audirvāna settings and in the My Account section? You will see a ‘Start Log Session’ button; click on it and reproduce your issue. After you reproduce it, click 'Stop Log Session’ and send me the audirvana_studio.log or audirvana_origin.log file you can find by clicking the 'Open Log Folder’ button at [email protected].
