Hello! I would like to record some music from my Mac/Audirvana onto tape, and was wondering if a simple USB to RCA cable into either the reel to reel input or through a vintage receiver (and then receiver to R2R) will be the best option? Will I still benefit from Audirvana’s playback of DSF files if I plug directly into the deck or receiver, or would I need an external DAC to have the same benefits? I currently play my Audirvana library through my Cambridge CXA81 amp which has a great DAC. Thanks!
You could connect your R2R machine to the pre-out output. It would be even better if you could set it to fixed output, otherwise switch off the speakers and crank the volume to the max. Check the manual for that.
