Remote cannot find computer after latest update

See Antoines recent post on the 2.5.1 memory leak You will find a download link for 2.4.0 (windows) in his post.

Hi Guys,

We did an update today, can you check if you still have this remote connection issue with the 2.5.2?

Thank you for the update.
However, the problem still hasn’t fixed at all.

Same problem here after the update, also tried to disable the “Private” profile firewall setting, same issue.

Thanks Audirvana for getting the update out in such timely fashion, such responsiveness!

Unfortunately, as already highlighted, the issue with Remote connectivity remains. My observations:

Started 2.4.0 as usual and went to advanced firewall settings and deleted the Audirvana rules that already exist in both the Inbound and Outbound Rules. Went back to Audirvana and to account setting and checked for updates. When the update started, a message popped up saying Windows firewall is preventing the Remote application. . . to work". Clicked on the “Open Windows Firewall Settings” button. The Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window popped up with the error message “There was an error opening the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in”. Closed the window and opened the firewall settings by clicking on “Advanced settings”. Clicked on “Inbound Rules” and found 2 rules for Audirvana. Clicked on “Outbound Rules” and there were no rules for Audirvana. Ran Remote from Android tablet and cannot find computer. Forced stopped Remote, cleared cache and deleted data. Ran Remote, still can’t find computer.

Unistalled 2.5.2. Went to Advanced Firewall Settings and deleted rules for Audirvana. Install 2.4.0. Remote works.

I just updated Audirvana Studio and now once again I’m having problems with the remote app, it just won’t connect. I already erased all the permissions, created new ones did all the previews recommended fixes and nothing.

Here’s my debug info:

Hi Folks,
My setup. A micro PC (Windows 10) with Studio and remote on Android. Been happily working for ages. Suddenly, remote cannot connect. Been through all the firewall stuff and router resets. Even with firewall off it still cant connect.
I now have to use a laptop to RDC to the windows machine which is annoying.

Any clues as to troubleshooting this? Was all good then just stopped one night.

Thanks

Perhaps the problem is a bug that has persisted since version 2.5.0.
Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to wait for an update.

More information can be found in the “Remote cannot find computer after latest update” topic.

Just tried on my tablet and I can’t get the Remote to recognize/connect to the laptop after the latest update.

Audirvana work on my Home PC. After several additional updates, I still cannot connect to a ‘remote’.
WIIM app works just fine

Still not resolved. No remote connection for a week now. I keep seeing this topic is fixed, but I’m still without use of Audirvana. And when you do FIX it, you need to make it understandable. I’ve updated twice and nothing works

After 2.5.3 update, I was able to use the Remore app again but after a night without any change in PC and iPhone, the Remote app can’t connect to Audirvana Origin on Windows 10 again this morning. I use ESET and it used to be without any issue until 2.4, so I reinstalled 2.4 Origin again and the Remote works again as usual.

I also have Audirvana 3.5 as well on the same PC and it works without any issue so it is clear that the issue is on Origin 2.5.x.

Thanks for the update, but it is still not possible to communicate between an Android device running Audrivana Remote (AR) and a Windows 10 laptop running Origin. The laptop was running version 2.4.0 of Origin and the update to 2.5.3 was done by going to the settings menus. Prior to the update I verified the Inbound and Outbound rules on the firewall. There were 2 Inbound rules and 1 Outbound.

After performing the update and clicking on “Open Windows Firewall Settings” button an error message was displayed on the Firewall Settings window that opened up, the same as in 2.5.2. Opened firewall settings using another method and when checking Inbound and Outbound rules, the upgrade did not delete the earlier Inbound rules set by 2.4.0 so there were 4 rules. For the Outbound rules, the rule that was set by 2.4.0 was deleted and no new rule was made. This experience is the same as that with 2.5.2. When AR was not able to communicate with the laptop, the app was force stopped, cache and were data cleared on the Android device. A subsequent attempt was made at connecting to Origin with no success.

Without doing anything on the Android device, I deleted the firewall rules on the Windows 10 laptop and 2.4.0 was reinstalled over 2.5.3 and there was no problem connecting to Origin once the passcode was entered on the Android device.

Hi

I’ve been trying to optimize the firewall from local to my home network and Origin v2.5.3 still won’t connect to the remote.

Thanks guys.

I have this issue as well. Network is private and firewall (Defender) is even disabled.

Remote doesn’t find the laptop on which Audirvãna is running.

So I will follow this thread with interest.

Rolled back to Studio 2.4.0 using the appxbundle provided in another thread someone mentioned above. Remote (beta) now works again on Samsung tablet and phone. It’s great to have it back.

I updated Origin to ver2.5.3.0.
In this update, it seemed that the developer was trying to stop third party security software from interfering with the software. However, I only use Windows Security. No other security software is installed. And I still can’t connect to remote app.

Hi, really frustrating since the 2 latest updates of origin on Windows… After wrestling with the firewall when it had no problem before, now I am finding out that the remote app on both my ipad and iphone can’t connect to my pc.

Help please! Thanks!

Guys

I really do need some answers on this issue. I paid my YEARLY renewal in Sept. and basically have not had functional use of Audirvana since any updates you suggested. The issue seems to be ignored at this point. EVERYOTHER APP I use with a Wi-Fi remote works correctly , even after multiple firmware updates. I don’t even see concise recommendations anymore, other than whatever has been surmised. And to no avail. I think you need to come up with a solution or begin issuing refunds.
