RPI 4 +Hifi Berry running Volumio v2 not working w/Audirvana

I have an RPI 4 with a HiFi Berry Digi Pro Hat running volumiov2 through an optical out into the receiver using its DAC. When I try to play music via Audirvana, songs skip before they are played yet if I use a USB out of the RPI into a separate DAC then into the receiver the songs play fine. Any Suggestions?
