Are you upsampling? And to what?

We will need this information to suggest something.Posting your debug info would also help.
As a guide with an M2/M3 max the CPU might hit 10% whilst processing/upsampling the file and drops back 1% during playback. If you have an old Intel Mac may be significantly higher, but should not sit at 99%!
